About Tada Dalotto, HTR
Bio of Tada Dalotto, HTR
Tada Dalotto is the only registered horticultural therapist (HTR) practicing in Hawaii. He helps people enhance mental and physical health & well-being by guiding people into a deeper connection with plants & nature with his unique tool belt of horticultural activities, meditation, breath work, plant science teachings, botanical metaphors relatable to our human experience, and collaborations with health care teams.
Tada's horticultural therapy practice is the result of his unique professional experience in horticultural science, botany, integrated & holistic mental healthcare, person-centered & trauma-informed care, crisis support, patient advocacy, science education, and of course, horticultural therapy. Tada also applies his extensive personal experience in Earth-based spirituality, deep ecology, self-sustainable off-grid living, gardening, plant-based diets, hiking, wilderness ranger work, and a lifetime of deepening his own relationship with nature.
Tada is a graduate of the Horticultural Therapy Institute and earned his honors baccalaureate in Horticulture from Oregon State University.
Tada is credentialed (HTR) by the American Horticultural Therapy Association (AHTA), the national authority on horticultural therapy that supports professional development, evidence-based education, and a connected practitioner network. By the end of 2026, Tada expects to be among the inaugural class of board-certified horticultural therapists. HT-BC will be the first board-certified credential for horticultural therapists ever offered.
Tada lives, practices horticultural therapy, and hosts personal & small group retreats at the beautiful Ecotone Sanctuary on the coast of the Big Island of Hawai'i.
